BACKGROUND

I grew up in Chicago where I attended college and received a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from St. Mary of the Lake University. After college I joined the Teacher Corps program where I earned a Masters degree in Education while teaching for two years in an inner-city school.

I came to California in 1970 and worked for three years with deaf-blind students at Sonoma State Hospital. Then I moved to Anderson Valley where I completed a special education credential and worked with emotionally disturbed youngsters for ten years.

In 1985 I started working for the Anderson Valley Schools. I started working in special education and ran Rancheria Continuation School and then took over as the high school principal. In 1987 I became the superintendent/principal.

 CURRENT POSITION

As the superintendent/principal I am responsible for the programs at both the elementary and high school sites. This includes Peachland Pre-school, A.V. Adult School, Rancheria Continuation School, A.V. Elementary School, and A.V. Jr./Sr. High. We have approximately 600 students.
