My great grandparents and their four children settled in Boonville around 1917. My grandfather, then a teenager, moved south to work on the railroad and then in the movie business.

I was born in the San Fernando Valley (Los Angeles area), I went to school there and graduated from college with a degree in Natural Resource Management. I would visit Boonville every chance I got because I love the country and had lots of family here.

Finally, I moved from smog city to Boonville in 1980 and got a job at the high school the first week I was here. I have been File Clerk, District Clerk, Business Manager and finally High School Secretary taking care of attendances, grades, Student Body accounts and all sorts of other things.

I have always loved horses and have been lucky enough to work on my cousins cattle ranch for 25 years, gathering cows with my horse and working with them, as a little girl I spent my summers there and always wanted to be a cowgirl.

Recently I married my partner of 16 years, Mike. We raised his two sons Matt, and Zack. Matt graduated from Anderson Valley in 2001 and is now going to college to be a music teacher. Zack, who graduated in 2005, is now in the Army.

Even though this job is not what I had gone to college for, it has been very enjoyable working with kids, my co-worker Veronica, the Administrators, and sometimes, even the teachers.
