Kim Campbell has been an English teacher at AVH since 1990 (back in the day when she was very young!). She currently teaches Honors English 9/10, English 10, English 11, Honors British Literature 11/12, and English Workshop. She also manages the Senior Project.
Ms. Campbell earned her B.A. in Eng
lish Literature from the University of Oregon in 1984. She completed her Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education in 1986 from Washington University in St. Louis, MO. After teaching pre-school in Oregon and Missouri for several years, Ms. C returned to college, entering Sonoma State’s single subject credential program. A little known fact is that Ms. Campbell was born in Ukiah; although she grew up in Oregon, she is actually "a local" (of sorts).
Despite the widely held belief that Ms. Campbell lives in her classroom-- where she grades papers and devises difficult assignments 24/7-- Ms. C. actually "has a life." In her spare time, Ms. C enjoys cooking, reading, film, travel, yoga and hiking around beautiful AV. Ms. C is also a world renowned water skier. Ask to see her video footage in which she demonstrates how she can ski backwards on a single ski while reading aloud from Macbeth!
