Bio

I grew up in the Bay Area and attended Acalanes High School where I did competitive dance, played the piano, attended college art classes, and went salsa danc ing with my friends as much as I could. I attended Carleton College with the intention of majoring in art and biology, but on that path got detoured through Brazil and hooked into politics, economics, and social justice. My international travels took me to East Africa and South America where I had many adventures in taxis on remote dirt roads. I finally landed back in California, my home, where I intend to spend the rest of my life teaching high school and taking students on trips abroad. In addition to teaching, I am a beekeeper, avid outdoorswomen, aspiring musician, and artist.
