Classroom Expectations

Classroom Rules and Procedures

When Rules Are Broken

Students will show up to class on-time and are ready to learn.

Students who show up to class after the bell rings must show up with an admittance slip from the office. Four or more unexcused tardies will result in the lowering of a students grade.

Students will not  disrupt  leanring in the classroom.

Students who disrupt the learning of other students will be reminded of the need to stay focused in order to learn.

If the disruptive behavior continues, the student will be asked to "Refocus" in another room. The student may return to class after the Refocus Form is completed and approved by the teacher.

Continued disruptions will result in suspension from class.

Students will bring a binder, two pencils, a science journal, and a positive attitude to class each day.

Students will have cell phones turned off when they enter the classroom.

Students with cell phones that ring during class will be reminded to turn them off before class. Students who use cell phones or text message during class will have their phones confiscated and handed to the principle and the phone will be returned after 3 days.

Students will not make threatening gestures or remarks toward any person.

The use of threatening gestures or remarks will result in a minimum of lunch-time detention and a conference with the student’s parents. Severe infractions will result in referral to the counseling office and suspension.

Students will clean up their lab area before the end of the period.

Students will remain in class after the bell until all lab equipment is returned and the lab station is cleaned.
